How this all began
I know what it feels like to have questions about your health and not know where to turn next.
My health journey started in my 20s, when doctors wanted to diagnose me with rheumatoid arthritis and put me on medication. I ran for the hills. Then came years of chronic UTIs, and the medication for those landed me in the emergency room more than once. Then psoriasis, which led to arthritis and joint pain.
I spent 16 years away from home, 13 of them in Colorado. Colorado is so magical and beautiful. It’s where I learned to connect with spirit and Mother Nature, and where I really got to know the limits of my body.
Then came my divorce, and that was truly my awakening. Louisiana was calling me home, back to my relationships, my family, and a place to raise my kids. I found myself a single parent in a new state with a whole new life, wondering how I was going to re-manifest an even better version of it. And I knew my health couldn’t take a back seat anymore.
I was lucky enough to meet my husband, fall in love, and do some traveling before the kids got too busy. Along the way, I picked up several parasites, and that’s when my parasite journey began.
Once one gets in, it opens the door for others. For me that meant Lyme and Bartonella, and then, the icing on the cake 13 years later, mold. I had to learn to love my body even more while it was sick, which is so much harder to do.
For so long I felt trapped in a system that wanted to give me medicine but wasn’t supporting my immune system. Medicine is needed, and every support system has its pros and its cons. But I needed more than one piece of the puzzle.
So for 30 years I’ve kept learning: natural medicine and conventional medicine, and healing on every level: emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. And somewhere along the way, I realized that we are naturally our own best health advisors.
Doctors and health professionals are invaluable. Each one brings their own expertise and perspective. But no one else lives in your body, and no one else sees every piece of the puzzle the way you can.
Why I do this work
I believe my health journey was complicated so that yours doesn’t have to be. You can feel your best. You can learn the emotions behind illness. You can have good mental health. You just have to learn the different systems of support, and which ones fit your beliefs and your desires.
How I feel today
I feel great. I wake up knowing what I’m doing, and I know my protocol. I listen to my intuition, whether it’s guiding me to call a different practitioner, read an article, listen to a podcast, or simply sit down and meditate. Meditation is big for me. Quiet time alone is how I truly hear what my body needs.
Today I have a beautiful understanding of health, and so many valuable people and resources to help you (and me!) live a long, happy, satisfying life, full of love. That’s what makes it all worth it.
